Wilf Martin, originally from Mallaig, Alberta, played center for Michigan during the 1963-1964 and 1964-1965 seasons, serving as captain during his last year.  During his two year career at Michigan, he scored fifty-four goals and thirty-seven assists.  His finest moments at Michigan were when he scored two goals against Michigan Tech in the 1963-1964 playoff, a game which Michigan won 4-3.

Wilf Martin was also a member of Coach Al Renfrew’s first NCAA Championship Team in 1964.  He was awarded the Dekers Club Most Colorful Rookie award for the 1963-1964 season.  He returned to the program in as the Head Coach but retired shortly thereafter.  He retired from the University of Michigan Athletic Department in 2005.
