Gordon Wilkie is from Regina, Saskatchewan and played hockey for the Regina Pats before enrolling at the University of Michigan. He played center from 1961-1964 for Coach Al Renfrew.
He scored forty-five goals and 111 assists for 156 career points. In 1962, he was chosen by the Denver Post as their WCHA Sophomore of the Year and the All-WCHA Second Team. In 1964, he was named to the All-WCHA First Team, the NCAA All-Tournament First Team, and he was chosen as the WCHA Most Valuable Player. He was also chosen as team captain in 1964.
Gordon Wilkie graduated from the business school at the University of Michigan with a 3.5 grade point average. After graduation, he played minor league hockey for the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League, and the Seattle Totems and San Diego Gulls of the Western Hockey League.
