Dick Starrak, originally from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, played defense at Michigan from 1946-1949 under Coach Vic Heyliger. He was a member of the 1948 team that won the first National Championship in ice hockey, beating Dartmouth College, 8-4. He was named an All-American in 1949.
After graduating from the University of Michigan, he entered the lumber industry. Dick Starrak passed away 6 February 2010.
